I changed blog theme and moved all related plugins etc. Phewww.. not a easy work. Now i am using modified prosense-blue.
I have just started my latest blog and would really appreciated you coming by.
This is my personal blog, Malaysia language version.
On Thursday 9th August 2007, I went to Tapis A Platform for IAS site survey. IAS - Instrument Air System. The scope of work is to replace the existing air dryer and electrical driven air compressor.
Basically these equipment are mean to supply the system with air so that any equipment on the platform which related to instrument will work.
Drinking more than three cups of coffee a day helped protect older women against some age-related memory decline, giving women more reason to love the world’s most popular stimulant.
“The more coffee one drank, the better the effects seemed to be on (women’s) memory functioning in particular,” said Karen Ritchie at the French National Institute of Medical Research, whose work appears in the journal, Neurology.
The researchers followed more than 7000 men and women in three French cities, checking their health and mental function and asking them about their current and past eating and drinking habits, their friends, and their daily activities.
The study found women who drank more than three cups of coffee per day, or its caffeine equivalent in tea, retained more of their verbal and - to a lesser extent - visual memories over four years.Women over 80 reaping more benefits from these beverages than those who were 10 to 15 years younger.
But the researchers didn’t find a similarly protective effect in men, although other studies have found a benefit to males. How might caffeine help ward off cognitive decline? “It is a cognitive stimulant,” said Ritchie.
It also helps to reduce levels of the protein called beta amyloid in the brain, she said, “whose accumulation is responsible for Alzheimer’s disease but which also occurs in normal aging.”Ritchie said she wasn’t sure why men in the study didn’t benefit from caffeine. “Our hypothesis is that either women metabolize caffeine differently than men, or there may be an interaction [of the caffeine] with the sex hormones, the estrogen-progesterone balance,” she said.
Some studies in mice have suggested that caffeine might block the buildup of proteins that lead to mental decline.Ritchie is not sure why only women benefited in her study.
The researchers, Lidia Morawska and colleagues at the Queensland University of Technology, classified 17 of the 62 printers, or 27 percent, as “high particle emitters”; one of the 17 pumped out particulates at a rate comparable with emissions from cigarette smoking.
The researchers called the emissions “a significant health threat” because of the particles’ small size, which makes them easy to inhale and easily lodged in the deepest and smallest passageways of the lungs.
The effects, she said, can range from simple irritation to much more serious illnesses, including cardiovascular problems or cancer.
“Even very small concentrations can be related to health hazards, where the concentrations are significantly elevated means there is potentially a considerable hazard.” said Morawska.
Two printers released medium levels of particulates, six issued low levels, and 37 or about 60 percent of those tested released no particles at all. HP, which is one of the world’s leading printer sellers, dominated both the list of high-level emitting and non-emitting printers.
The research also found that office particulate levels increased fivefold during work hours because of laser printers. Generally, more particles were emitted when the printer was using a new toner cartridge, and when printing graphics or photographs that require larger amounts of toner than, say, text.
Morawska recommended that people make sure rooms at work and home with laser printers are well ventilated.
Today I’ve read an article regarding the study on the reasons to have sex. The interesting thing according to this the study found men and women have sex for the same reasons, those reasons are lust, not love.
After asking nearly 2000 people why they’d had sex, the researchers in the University of Texas have assembled and categorized a total of 237 reasons.
“I was attracted to the person” was the number one reason for both sexes.
To make sense of the 237 reasons, researchers David Buss and Cindy Meston prioritized the responses in four general categories:
“The person had beautiful eyes,” or “a desirable body,” or “was a good kisser,” or “too physically attractive to resist.” Or “I wanted to achieve an orgasm.”
“I wanted to even the score with a cheating partner,” or “break up a rival’s relationship,” or “make money,” or “be popular.” Or “because of a bet.”
“I wanted to communicate at a deeper level,” or “lift my partner’s spirits,” or “say `Thank you.’.” Or just because “the person was intelligent.”
“I felt like it was my duty,” or “I wanted to boost my self-esteem,” or “It was the only way my partner would spend time with me.
The answer “I wanted to give someone else a sexually transmitted disease” ranked last for women and second last for men.
The rest of the top 10 were also almost the same for each gender, including “I wanted to express my love for the person,”
I was sexually aroused and wanted the release,” and “It’s fun.
Women were more likely to say they had sex because, “I wanted to express my love for the person” and “I realized I was in love.”
“A person offered to give me drugs for doing it” was the worst reason for having sex.
It’s refuted a lot of gender stereotypes … that men only want sex for the physical pleasure and women want love,” said University of Texas clinical psychology professor Cindy Meston, the study’s co-author.
Global warming refers to the rise in the earth’s temperature resulting from an increase in heat trapping gases in the atmosphere.
Wikipedia : Global warming refers to the increase in thetemperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans indecades and its projected continuation.
Global average air temperature near the Earth’s surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the twentieth century.
According to The Christian Science Monitor, climate scientists studying global warming now predict that it’s highly likely the world is undergoing significant, human-induced climate changes. They may result in more intense storms, droughts, sea-level rise, wildlife extinction, and other serious problems. But humanity is not a helpless victim. Much is being done to limit the effects of global warming, and more efforts are being planned.
Scientists have concluded that human activities are contributing to global warming by adding large amounts of heat-trapping gases to the atmosphere. Our fossil fuel use is the main source of these gases. Every time we drive a car, use electricity from coal-fired power plants, or heat our homes with oil or natural gas, we release carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases into the air.
The second most important source of greenhouse gases is deforestation, mainly in the tropics, and other land-use changes.
What we can do to slow global warming is to reduce emissions of heat-trapping gases by:
driving less and driving more fuel-efficient and less-polluting cars
using energy-efficient appliances
insulating homes
using less electricity in general
Scientists predict that even if we stopped emitting heat-trapping gases immediately, the climate would not stabilize for many decades because the gases we have already released into the atmosphere will stay there for years or even centuries. So while the warming may be lower or increase at a slower rate than predicted if we reduce emissions significantly, global temperatures cannot quickly return to today’s averages. And the faster and more the Earth warms, the greater the chances are for some irreversible climate changes.
Great plugin and exactly what I was looking for.
The plugin allows you to select a number of social bookmark sites which are displayed in the content. This allows your readers to bookmark your blog or article directly to the social bookmarking sites you have enabled.
To install the plugin, simply download the plugin from the download site, and upload the contents of the archive to your wp-content/plugins/ folder and activate the plugin under your plugin settings. You should then be able to drag and drop the widget to your sidebar and select which bookmarking sites you wish to display.
